    Molecular detection of Torque teno virus in different breeds of swine

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Torque teno virus (TTV), of the <it>Anelloviridae </it>family, <it>Iotatorquevirus </it>genus, is a non-enveloped, single-stranded, and negative sense DNA (ssDNA) virus infecting human and many domestic animals including swines. Very little information is known about the investigations of TTV prevalence in different swine breeds so far.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>In this study, 208 serum samples collected from seven swine breeds (<it>Rongchang pig</it>, <it>Chenghua pig</it>, <it>Zibet pig</it>, <it>Wild boar</it>, <it>Duroc</it>, <it>Landrace</it>, <it>Large Yorkshire</it>) from two independent farms were detected to determine the prevalence of two swine TTV genogroups, TTV1 and TTV 2, by nested polymerase chain reaction methods, and to analyse prevalence difference among these breeds.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>The results showed that the prevalence of TTV in the seven breeds was 92%-100%. No significant difference (p > 0.05) in TTV infection was observed between different breeds. Interestingly, significantly higher prevalence for TTV1 in <it>Rongchang </it>boars (90%) and for TTV2 in <it>Rongchang </it>sows (95%) were detected, while co-infection rate (43.8%) was lower than other breeds. Sequence analysis showed that the homology of TTV1 and TTV2 were over 90.9% and 86.4% in these breeds, respectively.</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>The results indicated that TTV was widely distributed in the seven swine breeds. The prevalence of both TTV genogroups associated with swine breeds and genders. This study also respented the first description of swine TTV prevalence in different swine breeds. It was vitally necessary to further study swine TTV pathogenicity.</p

    Nonlinear Active Disturbance Rejection Control of VGT-EGR System in Diesel Engines

    In this paper, a nonlinear active disturbance rejection control (NLADRC) strategy based on nonlinear extended state observer (NLESO) is proposed to solve the unmodeled dynamics, coupling and disturbance due to change of working point in the variable geometry turbine (VGT) and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system, so as to achieve accurate control of intake manifold pressure and mass air flow in a diesel engine. To achieve decoupling, the double-input double-output (DIDO) VGT-EGR system is decomposed into two single-input single-output (SISO) subsystems, and each subsystem has a separate nonlinear active disturbance rejection controller. At the same time, the convergence proof of the designed NLESO is also given theoretically. Finally, the NLADRC controller is compared with linear active disturbance rejection controller and proportional&ndash;integral&ndash;derivative (PID) controller. Through simulation, it is indicated that the proposed NLADRC controller has better transient response performance, resistance to external disturbance and robustness to the change of engine operating point

    Experimental Study on Acoustic Emission of Confined Compression of Crushed Gangue under Different Loading Rates: Disposal of Gangue Solid Waste

    The crushed gangue materials which are filled into the goaf in solid-backfilling coal mining become the main body of bearing the overburden after the tamping process. Its resistance to deformation is the key to control overburden movement and surface subsidence. Particle breakage affects the resistance to deformation of filling materials. In this paper, a confined compression test of crushed gangue under different loading rates was designed, and the acoustic emission (AE) signal was monitored in the process of confined compression. The test results showed that with the increase of loading rate, the anti-deformation ability of crushed gangue showed a dynamic change process of increasing, decreasing, and then increasing again. With the increase of loading rate, the breakage degree of the samples decreased, the proportion of large-sized gangue increased, the growth period of AE counts showed an obvious hysteresis phenomenon, and the AE activity level of the gangue increased gradually. The research results can not only provide a more in-depth and comprehensive understanding of the mechanical properties of crushed gangue filling materials but also provide a reference for the engineering application of solid-filling coal mining

The complex comprises four accelerators: a 30 GeV Linac, a 1.1 GeV Damping Ring, a Booster capable of achieving energies up to 180 GeV, and a Collider operating at varying energy modes (Z, W, H, and ttbar). The Linac and Damping Ring are situated on the surface, while the Booster and Collider are housed in a 100 km circumference underground tunnel, strategically accommodating future expansion with provisions for a Super Proton Proton Collider (SPPC). The CEPC primarily serves as a Higgs factory. In its baseline design with synchrotron radiation (SR) power of 30 MW per beam, it can achieve a luminosity of 5e34 /cm^2/s^1, resulting in an integrated luminosity of 13 /ab for two interaction points over a decade, producing 2.6 million Higgs bosons. Increasing the SR power to 50 MW per beam expands the CEPC's capability to generate 4.3 million Higgs bosons, facilitating precise measurements of Higgs coupling at sub-percent levels, exceeding the precision expected from the HL-LHC by an order of magnitude. This Technical Design Report (TDR) follows the Preliminary Conceptual Design Report (Pre-CDR, 2015) and the Conceptual Design Report (CDR, 2018), comprehensively detailing the machine's layout and performance, physical design and analysis, technical systems design, R&D and prototyping efforts, and associated civil engineering aspects. Additionally, it includes a cost estimate and a preliminary construction timeline, establishing a framework for forthcoming engineering design phase and site selection procedures. Construction is anticipated to begin around 2027-2028, pending government approval, with an estimated duration of 8 years. The commencement of experiments could potentially initiate in the mid-2030s
